Health and Wellness for All:

Is our capstone initiative to support mental wellbeing of the South Asian Community. Through this initiative we tend to provide a support group for individuals struggling to cope up with mental illness. As well as we engage in research to identify the factors such as domestic violence, impact of bullying, unemployment and homelessness contributing to mental illness issues in the South Asian community, we offer cultural-based mental health programs, meditation and wellness workshops by trained professionals.

Preserving South Asian Heritage:

North Americans of South Asian heritage reflect the cultural diversity of South Asia. The languages and dialects of the region, as well as the religious diversity, which includes, Hinduism, Sikhism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Jainism, are all now part of the North American identity. NAASAA takes pride in promoting programs and activities to honor the rich history and culture of South Asia. Every year we celebrate the South Asian Heritage Month from July 18th to August 17th to mark the existence and legacy of individuals with origins in the South Asian countries of Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, and the Maldives. This month can play an important role in the validation and experience of the South Asian Diaspora living in North America and preserve the rich history and voices of millions of people around the world.
